A case of traumatic subarachnoid pneumocephalus: as a complication of intranasal ethmoidectomy.

ABSTRACT

Traumatic pneumocephalus is rare disease on otolaryngologic field. The case was 25-year-old male who had taken bilateral intranasal ethmoidectomy, inferior meatal antrostomy, bilateral intranasal polypectomy on April 30th, 1990. On the 4th postoperative day, severe headache and left sided blood mixed watery discharge was noted, computed tomography of Paranasal sinus and Brain revealed multiple subarachonid pneumocephalus. So, we managed the subarachnoid pneumocephalus with consevative treatment and then completely subsided. Following 6 Months, no evidence of recurrence and other sequelae was visible. So, we report a case of traumatic subarachnoid pnemocephalus.
