ABSTRACT |
This is a report of a case of tongue tuberculosis. When first examined, there was an ulcer at the tip of tongue covered with greyish white coating. The ulcer was 3×1.5cm size and had irregular edge and somewhat punched out ragged surface extending toward the base of tongue. The patient noticed this ulcer 5 months ago for the first time. X-ray therapy brought some remission at other clinic, but the lesion aggravated 4 months after X-ray therapy. Biopsy revealed the lesion to be a tongue tuberculosis. The other clinical findings coincied with the former result and the diagnosis of tongue tuberculosis was confirmed. To our regret we could not follow up the symptom after the patient was discharged from our clinic. Here we emphasize that there should be further studies concerning the differential diagnosis and interrelationship of cancer, lues and tuberculosis and the therapy of tongue tuberculosis. |
