ABSTRACT

Since ""Reticulum Cell Sarcoma"" had been named by Oberling in 1928 and a case was reported by Roulet in 1930, the malignant neoplasm has been frequently observed and intensive studies are carried out by many workers. However, still the disease is known as one of the most malignant growth histopathologically and clinically. In majority of the cases the reticulum cell sarcoma has tendency of remote metastasis and rarely shows localized growth even under intensive therapy. For fifteen years up to the date, from 1953 to 1967, eight cases, five male and three female patients, of localized reticulum cell sarcoma have been observed at outpatient clinic of our department. Those patients were given local irradiation therapy and/or surgical removal of the tumor and systemic therapy, administration of anticancer agents. We present the clinical characteristics of reticulum cell sarcomax and review the literature on this subjects.
