ABSTRACT

Benign tumors of the tonsil are relatively uncommon but many different types of papillomas, fibromas, retention cysts and angiomas have been described(Watkyn-Thomas, 1953). Most angiomatous lesions of the tonsil reported in the literatures are hemangiomas, but a few are lymphangiomas. According to Harrison and Johnson (1960) who made a critical review of the world literature only four cases including their case of tonsillar lymphangioma were reported. And since that time we could find only one additional case of polypoid lymphangioma reported by Pallestrini et al in 1966. The present case report is warranted by the rarity of the condition.
