ABSTRACT

The authors recently experienced a case of laryngeal granuloma caused by trauma of endotracheal anesthesia. The patient, 36-year-old-woman, received the left salphingo-orphorectomy and total hysterectomy under general anesthesia with intubation on April 27 1969. On June 9 1969, she visited our clinic with the chief complaint of hoarseness followed by the intubation anesthesia. The direct laryngoscopy revealed a tumor mass on the posterior part of each vocal cord, which was reddish, movable, smooth on surface and rice corn in size. The histological diagnosis was confirmed as the granuloma. The tumor mass was removed with the laryngeal forceps under the direct laryngoscopy.
