1) The sex, age, chief complaints, histopathology, size, type of operation and end-results of 13 laryngectomized cases were analyzed. 2) Of 3 cases of narrow field total laryngectomy, there were 2 death of peristomal recurrence and one death of general weakness. Of 6 cases of wide field total laryngectomy, there was one postoperative death. The follow-up study for the other 5 cases revealed that they were free from any evidence of recurrence for about 2 to 6 years after operation. Among 4 cases of the wide field total laryngectomy, with neck dissection, there was also one case of postoperative death. The follow-up study of other 3 cases were free from any recurrence for 15 months to 19 months.
