Author experienced recently three cases of neurofibroma in the otolaryngological fields.
Case 1 : A 7 year old boy was admitted on January 5 1970, with the complaint of a large cystic tumor on the left side of the face. On January 7 1970, this tumor was removed successfully. The tumor was firm, encapsulated and 4×5×2 cm in size. Histopathological study revealed a neurofibroma.
Case 2 : A 26 year old male was first visited to our department on November 15 1969, with the complaint of tumor mass on the right lateral pharyngeal wall, which was developed gredually since two months age. The tumor was removed under tracheotomy and ligation of the right external carotid artery. The histopathological study was a neurofibroma. The tumor was also firm, encapsulated and 6×5×3 cm in size.
Case 3 : A 35 year old female came to the department with complain of firm tumor mass on the left tonsil and extend to the left soft palate. Preoperative biopsy revealed a neurofibroma. On June 6 1970, the tumor was removed surgically. It was a dark reddish, firm and encapsulated with smooth surface measured 6×4×2cm.
