Analysis of Articulation Scores and Confusion Pattern of Distored Speech Sound

ABSTRACT

Articulation and confusion test was done with 30 monosyllable speech sounds and distored speech sounds, which were frequently used in conversation, they were selected from the textbook of Korean language for primary school. They were recorded and I have got the articulation scores and confusion pattern. i) Articulation scores obtained 93.14% in the cases of 3 3/4 RPS and 43.87% in the cases of 7 1/2 RPS (distored speech sound). ii) Confusion pattern of initial consonants occurred at ""ㄷ,ㄹ,ㅂ,ㅅ"" in the cases of 3 3/4 RPS, but occurred at all of the initial consonants except ""ㅎ"" in the cases of 7 1/2 RPS. iii) In vowels, confusion pattern occurred a kind of syllable at ""ㅏ,ㅗ,ㅜ,ㅡ"" two kinds of syllable at ""ㅣ"" three kinds of syllable at ""ㅔ"" in the cases of the 3 3/4 RPS and confusion pattern occurred to many kinds of syllables in the cases of the 7 1/2 RPS.
