ABSTRACT

Early carcinoma of the larynx is highly curable by either radiation or partial laryngectomy, and this is well documented in medical literature. There is no agreement, however, on the choice of radiation and surgery in the treatment of early lesion, nor has there appeared trend to support a universal system of staging. In reviewing the result at the Kyushu and Kurume University Hospital from 1962 to 1967, indication of the radiation and surgical treatment about the laryngeal cancer is discussed according to the recent classification of UICC.
