ABSTRACT

A case of pyogenic granuloma in the trachea in a two-year-old boy is reported. The patient was admitted to the Korea General Hospital on April 26, 1971 because of progressive difficulty in breathing for about three weeks. Under bronchoscopic examination a pedunculated pea-size soft mass was found on the posterior wall of the trachea at the level of near the bifurcation. The mass was removed by a bronchial forceps without much difficulty. The result of biopsy was reported as pyogenic granuloma. One month later the patient had a mass of the same size as originally seen in the same area. It was removed by same procedure as in first time. The report again showed pyogenic granuloma, and the patient had no further recurrence since then.
