Liposarcoma in Maxillary Sinus

ABSTRACT

Liposarcoma are relatively common mesenchymal neoplasm of the soft somatic tissue. Virchow in 1857 first described a malignant tumor of the fatty tissue. Pack & Ariel have stated that liposarcoma constitute 14.6% of all sarcomas of the somatic tissue. A case of liposarcoma of the maxillary sinus which occurred in a 19 year old female was experienced. A total maxillectomy was performed and the palatal defect subsequently was managed with a prosthesis.
