An Epidemiologic Survey of Congenital Preauricular Fistula

ABSTRACT

Among randomly selected primary school children of aged from 7 years to 12 years, we employed physical examination for study of the congenital auricular fistula. The results may be listed as follows. 1) Congenital pre-auricular fistula was detached in 4.94% of randamly selected children. 2) No significant difference was observed in geogropical distribution. 3) Left side was most commonly involved and bilateral, right in order of frequency. 4) In both sex, Left side most oftenly involved, bilateral involvement was least commonly seen in male and right in female.
