Neurilemmomas are neoplasms which arise from the Schwann sheath cells of the cranial and spinal nerve roots as well as peripheral nerves. They occur mainly on sensory nerves of which the vestibular is most frequently involved. We have recently experienced a case of neurilemmoma of the oropharynx. The patient was a 47 year-old female who had complained of a foreign body sensation in the throat for 20 days. The tumor was completely removed under the general endotracheal anesthesia via transoral approach and was verified histopathologically as neurilemmoma of the oropharynx.
