ABSTRACT |
Lymphoma comprise a group of malignant disorders of lymphoid and reticulum cells. In the head and neck, these malignant lymphomas usually originate in the cervical lymph node or in Waldeyer's ring and also they may occasionally arise in extranodal tissue, but their primary origin in the nasal septum is infrequent. Recently we experienced one case of reticulum cell sarcoma involving the nasal septum. A 43 year old male minor suffered from nasal obstruction, foul odored bloody discharge from nasal cavity and headache of 6 months duration. Under the anterior rhinoscopy, septal perforation with surrounding necrotic tissue was found. Biopsy was performed and pathological diagnosis is malignant lymphoma, histiocytic type(reticulum cell sarcoma). This is the report of the reticulum cell sarcoma on nasal septum with review of the literature.
