Clinical Survey of the Tuberculous Lymphadenitis Colli

ABSTRACT

The tuberculous lymphadenitis colli is a still common disease in Korea, and frequently observed at E.N.T. clinic. Since Apr. 1979 till Aug. 1980, cervical lymph node palpated 47 cases were studied by the chest X-ray, tuberculin test, Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, the nature of lymph node, duration of the disease, pain or tenderness, familial tuberculous disease history, B.C.G. vaccination history and finally the biopsy of lymph node were performed to confirm it. By analysing above all tests, we could summerized a knowledge of diagnosing the tuberculous lymphadenitis colli. 1) The tuberculous lymphadenitis colli is found in 40.04% of 47 cases. 2) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 81.25% between 21 year old to 30 and 22.22% in 11 year to 20 year old. 3) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 71.43% in pulmonary tuberculous patients. 4) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 100% in E.S.R. over 31 & 80% in 21 to 30. 5) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 62.06% in positive tuberculin test & 5.55% in negative tuberculin test. 6) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is not accompanied pain but tenderness is noticed in 5.24%. 7) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 71.42% over the 30mm in diameter of the palpated lymph node. 8) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 58.62% in mutiple lymph node & 11.11% in single. 9) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 51.72% along the S.C.M muscle & 33.33% in submental region. 10) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 80% over the 4 years duration & 32.25% below the 2 years. 11) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found as 50% in familial tuberculous disease group & 51.72% in non familial tuberculous disease group. 12) The Tbc. lymphadenitis colli is found.
