ABSTRACT |
Inverted papillomas of the nose and sinuses are rare, and these benign neoplasms have a tendency to recur after removal. They have a tendency to transform into malignancy even through this is rare. The pathologic characteristics are numerous prominent invaginations of the epithelium into the stroma and the overlying epithelium may be respiratory, squamous or more usually transitional. The authors have recently experienced a case of inverted papilloma which occupied the left side of the nasal cavity in a 65-year-old female. There is no evidence of recurrence at the present time. |
