ABSTRACT

The authors report three cases of rare and interesting foreign body in the esophagus. The patients were a 23 years-old man, a 43 years-old man and a 16 years-old girl who complained of dysphagia and sore throat. After premedication, esophagoscopic removals were performed. All these removed foreign bodies were sharp square shaped, hard plastic capsulated pills. Some difficulties were encountered during endoscopic removal, however the procedures were uneventful.
