A Case of Congenital Epulis

ABSTRACT

The congenital granular-cell epulis is a benign tumor which in also called congenital epulis of the newborn because it is seen only in newborn infants. It is predominantely on the anterior maxillary alveolar ridge, where it may often interfere with efforts to nurse, and usually in famale. The cause as well as the cell of origin remaines unresolved. Treatment is generally agreed to be simple excision. Recurrence has not been reported. Recently authors have experienced a case of congenital epulis on labial aspect of maxillary alveolar in right lateral incisor region in newborn infant. We report this case with review of the literatures.
