ABSTRACT

The authors experienced a case of huge antronasal polyps with lesional bony destruction. A 17 year-old girl was visited on Mar. 2nd 1984 with chief complaints of visible polypoid mass, fistula on the left inner canthus and infraorbital area, nasal obstruction, foul odor and dysphagia which were gradually developed during 6 years to entry. Anterior rhinoscopy revealed polypoid mass in left nasal cavity and severe septal deflection to the right side. X-ray of the pasanasal sinus revealed huge tumorous condition on the left nasal cavity and maxillary antrum, but no destruction of the orbital wall. Under the general tracheal anesthesia, the polypoid mass was completely removed without any complication. Pre-and post-operative histopathological findings were consistent with nasal polyp.
