A Few data have been reported on vestibular function test in Korea. 60 young healthy adults(male 30, female 30) were tested with Romberg test, Mann's test, One-leg test, Goniometer test, Blindfolded vertical writing test, Quix test, Stepping test, Caloric test. The following results were obtained. 1) In Romberg test and Mann's test, there was no falling for 30 seconds in all cases. 2) In One-leg test, there was 3.3% of dropping of leg with eye open, and the mean frequency of leg dropping to the ground was 1.3 times in right leg raising and 1.2 times in left leg raising. 3) In Goniometer test, the mean angle of falling was 31.0° in anterior direction 24.9° in posterior direction, 26.7° in right direction, 26.7° in left direction. There was statistical difference between anterior and posterior direction(P<0.005) and between men and women(eye open : p<0.1, eye close p<0.01). 4) In Blindfolded vertical writing test, the mean angle of deviation was 5.5° in right direction, 5.3° in left direction. 5) In Quix test, the mean distance of displacement was 2.3cm vertically, 2.4cm horizontally. 6) In stepping test, forward displacement was observed in all cases and the mean value of distance of displacement was 68.7cm, the mean value of the angle of displacement was 27.7°, the mean value of angle of rotation was 46.8°. 7) In caloric test, the mean value of latency period of nystagmus was 28.2 seconds in right and 29.1 seconds in left. The mean value of duration of nystagmus was 64.8 seconds in right and 64.7 seconds in left.
