ABSTRACT

Multiple neurofibromatosis is known as von Recklinghausen's disease. In 1882, von Recklinghausen reported 5 cases of patients and then named von Recklinghausen's disease. Multiple neurofibromatosis is a hereditary autosomal dominant disorder but only 50% of the patients was demonstrated family history. Acoustic nerve is the most common site of the occurrence. Malignant degeneration was estimated in 2.4% to 29%. We have experienced recently large neurofibromas in left parotid and right submandibular region and treated with surgery. The post-operative sequelae were mild tongue and lip deviation.
