ABSTRACT

Herpes zoster is a viral disease associated with otalgia, vesicular eruptions, facial nerve paralysis and cochleovestibular dysfunction. There are 6 patterns of clinical reports of herpes zoster oticus according to the various combination of the above otologic symptoms and signs. The disease is usually short-lived with recovery in days to weeks. A case of herpes zoster oticus is presented in which otalgia, vesicular eruption and vestibular dysfunction were its sole manifestations.
