ABSTRACT

Toynbee described the eustachian tube as normally being closed, opening only during the process of swallowing in 1853. The clinical entity has been known since 1858, the pathologic entity has been well documented and its history is well reviewed by Perlman and Miller. It may occur far often than is generally recognized and may frequently be overlooked. Recently, the authors had experienced two cases of abnormally patent eustachian tube, 27-years-old male patient who complain autophonia and 28-year-old female patient who complain tinnitus, which was relief with Boric-Salicylic acid(4 : 1) powder insufflation. So, the authors report two cases with review of the literatures.
