ABSTRACT

Malignant external otitis is a devastating infection which begins in the external auditory canal, often extends into adjacent bone and soft tissues, tends to appear in elderly diabetic patients and the causative agent is almost always Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. This disease has attracted the interest of many Otolaryngologists since Chandler's report of 13 patients in 1968. Recently the authors experienced a case of malignant external otitis with multiple cranial nerve palsies. So we reported this case with review of literatures.
