ABSTRACT

Various applications of the sternocleidomastoid muscle in the reconstructive surgery of the head and neck has been developed because of its multifocal blood supply, considerable length in the neck, and proximity to many important cervical structures. A sternocleidomastoid muscle flap was successfully utilized in the repair of cervical esophagocutaneous fistula associated with cervical spine fracture.
