ABSTRACT

The papilloma is the most common benign tumor of the larynx and it is usually divided into two groups by age because of the different clinical course. In children, multiple lesions are common and rapid recurrence after removal is the rule. And in adult, it is generally accepted that they usually occur as a single lesion and recurrences are rare. But recent experiences by authors were quite different. Most lesions of the adult onset laryngeal papillomas were also multiple and posttreatment recurrences were also very common like juvenile ones. We report 44 cases of the laryngeal papilloma in adult.
