ABSTRACT

Electroglottography(EGG) in one of the non-invasive objective methods to evaluate the vocal cord vibration during phonation. These studies suggested that there is a need to get normal data of EGG under various frequencies and intensities to compare the data from patients with voice disorder. Two dimensional 4 cell matrices(high, low frequency, each one with high, and low intensity) were used for data collection in 25 normal subjects(15 males, 10 females). Fundamental frequency(F0), closed quotient(CQ), speed quotient of glottal contact(SQ), speed index of glottal contact(SI), jitter and shimmer of the EGG waveform were analysed. The results were as follows ; 1) As the intensity was increased, CQ, SQ and SI were increased. 2) As the frequency was increased, CQ was slightly increased while SQ and SI were decreased. 3) The analysis of jitter and shimmer were not remarkable.
