Analysis of Questionnaire of Allergic Rhinitis

ABSTRACT

The questionnaire of 434 patients with symptoms of allergic rhinitis has been analyzed and the following results were obtained : 1) Allergic rhinitis and non-allergic rhinitis(eosinophilic nonallergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis) were more frequent in male(male to female ratio=1.5:1) and these were statistically significant(p<0.01). 2) The proportion of nonallergic rhinitis increased significantly with aging(p=0.01). 3) Family history and past history of suffering allergic disease were more frequent in allergic rhinitis. 4) The living condition was not related to allergic rhinitis. 5) The chief complaints of both allergic and nonallergic rhinitis were nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, sneezing and nasal itching sensation in the order. 6) The proportion of perennial allergic rhinitis was 39.7%, and symptoms of the seasonal allergic rhinitis occurred more frequently in the morning of the winter.
