ABSTRACT

Foreign bodies have been frequently encountered in the otolaryngologic field. A 25-year-old patient, in whom Caldwell-Luc's operation and intranasal ethmoidectomy were perfomed 5 years ago, was admitted to the ENT department with a 5-year history of nasal stuffiness, mucopurulent rhinorrhea, and hyposmia. During revision operation, we found four pieces of vaseline gauze in the left ethmoid sinus which seemed to be packed at the previous surgery and remained for 5 years. We report this case with review of the related loteratures.

Keywords: Foreign bodyEthmoid sinus.
