ABSTRACT

Malignant lymphoma is a disease arising from the immune system, largely divided into Hodgkin's disease and Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. Hodgkin's disease arise and spread through the lymph nodes and are considered as a single entity. Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas arise mostly in the lymph nodes but about 40% of them arise in the extranodal sites and due to the diversity of the natures and clinical courses, many problems still exist in the diagnosis and treatment. The staging and histological classification in Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma have been studied in the head and neck region but not many studies were focused on the nose and paranasal sinuses, so we reviewed charts and tissue slides of 6 cases of Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas originated in the nose and paransal sinuses from June 1991 to December 1995.
