ABSTRACT

Primary malignant mucosal melanoma is extremely rare and mucosal melanomas of the head and neck represent 0.5 to 2% of all malignant melanomas. Since Viennois have reported the first case of malignant melanoma of the nose in 1872, about 200 cases have been reported in western literature, and about 11 cases are reported in Korea up to date. We report a case of primary malignant mucosal melanoma originated from the nasal cavity of 81 years old female patient with the review of literature.
