An arteriovenous malformation is consisted of an endothelial lined communication between the artery and vein without interposed capillary bed. According to its size and location, it causes significant hemodynamic alterations. There are still a lot of problems and controversies in classifications and methods of treatment for the vascular malformation of the head and neck region. A congenital arteriovenous malformation has multiple communications between the artery and vein, but an acquired arteriovenous malformation has single communication usually secondary to trauma, most commonly penetrating. We experienced two cases of the arteriovenous malformations which were treated with surgical excision with or without preoperative embolization.
