ABSTRACT

The penetrating foreign body of skull base is uncommon and potentially life-threatening. The unusual nature and circumstances of the injury and the management problems were related to the proximate neurovascular bundles. Authors experienced a rare case of penetrating injury into right mastoid process through nasopharynx to left infratemporal fossa by a linear metalic foreign body, which was removed through partial mastoidectomy. Postsurgical recovery was rapid and unevenful.

Keywords: Metalic foreign bodySkull base.
