Clinical Observation on 117 Cases of Peritonsillar Abscess

ABSTRACT

The authors studied 117 cases of peritonsillar abscess patients, who visited the E.N.T. clinic of Soo Do Medical College Hospital, during a 7 year period from Oct. 1956 to Sept. 1963. 1) This disease seem to be more frequent in the age group of 20-29 years old than any other age groups, and is quite rare specially in under 10 and over 60 years old groups. 2) No significant difference in frequency between two sex was found although the male showed a slght prominent occurrence. 3) The disease has tendency to occur more frequently during the autumn season than any other seasons. 4) The ration of occurrence between right and left was 1 : 1.3.
