ABSTRACT |
We recently experienced a rare case of the esophagobronchial fistula, protruding a part of esophagus through the tracheostoma due to lye ingestion. This patient was 25 years old Korean male soldier who had ingested large amount of concentrated lye solution for suicidal purpose. By 10 th day after lye ingestion, esophagus was protruded through the tracheostoma from the esophagobronchial fistula, which was located at the beginning of left main bronchus. By 14th day, patient died from sudden massive hemorrhage through tracheostoma, nose and mouth. We report here the progress and findings of autopsy, and reviewed briefly about complications and interesting feature of this case.
