A Case of Multiple Primary Malignant Tumor in the Tonsil and the Larynx

ABSTRACT

Billroth, in 1869, first reported the occurrence of different primary malignant tumors in the same patient. Since then numerous papers have been written on the subject. Early diagnosis and treatment are important because in many instances the new cancer can be controlled. The clinician should be more aware of the possibility of multiple malignancies in the individual patient with tumors. The authors recently experienced a case of multiple primary malignant tumor occurred in the tonsil(squamous cell carcinoma) and the larynx(squamous cell carcinoma). The authors report this case with a brief review of literatures.
